About Lunar Thirteen

Our love for candles and astrology began as children. The first candle we can recount making is with our mom and friends on the beach of our friends' cottage. We made holes in the sand in various shapes and poured wax colored with crayon shavings.

In high school, we made treasure candles from milk cartons, ice cubes, and trinkets to give as gifts to our friends. Each trinket represented a different fortune. Is burning her candle the reason our bestie found her first love?

Even though we stopped making candles, we were still obsessed. We bought candles as gifts. We lit candles to relax. In fact, a good friend once told us that our "parties were known for" our "dips and candles."

After years of dreaming, researching, and playing with wax, Jamie woke up one day and said, "We're doing this." Sara, always the partner in crime, agreed to go along for the ride.

So here we are, candle makers, ready to share our hobby with you and your friends and family. We'll do the hard part so you can do the fun part: whether attending a workshop or indulging in a finished candle.
